Perfume Tips

Choosing a Perfume:

With so many fragrances to choose from, finding the right perfume for you can almost be an art form. Some perfume scents change and evolve over a short period of time. You may not be convinced of a perfume or cologne when first applying it, but give it some time, and you may fall in love. For this reason, it is wise to always test a perfume while shopping.

Simply apply a small amount, shop around the store for ten or fifteen minutes and see if you like how the perfume is developing. Also buy a perfume or cologne that you enjoy wearing, not one that a friend or family member loves.

Perfumes have a way of mixing with our natural body odors that often produce a more unique fragrance. What may smell good on a friend, may not on you.

How to Wear Perfumes:

In the hope of making a perfume or cologne last longer, some people have a tendency to douse themselves with fragrance. This causes the uncomfortable effect of fumigating everyone nearby.

Instead of pouring on the perfume, apply the fragrance on areas of your body that stay a little more moist such as behind your knees, the crook of your elbow, wrists, inner thighs, and even in cleavage. Fragrance lasts longer and works best when the perfume is kept moist by humidity.

Also, never rub perfume on your skin, as you will damage the delicate ingredients. Spray or dab your favorite fragrance and then leave it alone for a fabulous, longer-lasting exhilaration.

Perfume Storage:

When a perfume is past its prime, you’ll notice that the fragrance no longer has the same heavenly scent you first fell in love with. You may also notice that the perfume is a shade or two darker.

To keep your perfumes from expiring too soon, keep your perfume bottles tightly sealed when not in use. Always store your perfumes and colognes away from direct heat and sunlight. Frosted, dark colored perfume bottle glass also helps perfumes stay fresh longer.

Another Use for Perfumes:

Since perfume blends incorporate essential oils, you can add a few drops to an oil burner to create a lovely room aroma. This is a great way to cover up unwanted scents or simply enhance a special occasion.
